DEFINITION OF ACCREDITED INVESTOR
A designation used by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to define an investor having sufficient income and/or assets to accept the risk of participating in a private limited partnership. The investor must have a net worth of at least $1 million, or an annual income of at least $200,000, or a net worth at least five times his or her investment in the partnership, assuming that interest is $150,000 or greater.
